Wayne Northrop, 1947 – 2024

Actor Wayne Northrop, 77, best known for his soap work, died on Nov. 29 at the Motion Picture and Television Home, after a six-year bout with Alzheimer’s. He was best known as Dr. Alex North and Roman Brady on Days of Our Lives, from 1981-2006. He also played recurring villains on Dynasty and Port Charles. Northrop’s career began at the Los Angeles Actors’ Theater, and in 1977 he began appearing in films and TV: Baretta, The Waltons, L.A. Law, Hotel, and others. He is survived by his wife, actress Lynn Herring (Port Charles, General Hospital) and their two sons.
