Country musician Tommy Cash, 84, died on Sept. 13. The younger brother of Johnny Cash, he was signed by various labels in the late 1960s. Tommy never achieved the fame of his brother, but had some success with such songs as “Six White Horses,” “One Song Away,” “Rise and Shine,” and “I Recall a Gypsy Woman.” The singer, guitarist and songwriter appeared on various variety shows (including Johnny’s) and acted in The River Thief and Sun Records. Although he continued performing till recently, he paid his rent as a licensed Realtor. Cash wrote on his website, “I remember Mama and Daddy working long hours to provide for us and give us a Christian home. Most of all, I remember a whole lot of love. My brother Johnny and I are the only two who made a career in the music business. I’m not surprised that country music has been accepted by such a wide audience.”
