Seth Binzer (also known as Shifty Shellshock), 49, front man and cofounder of the group Crazy Town, was found dead at his L.A. home on June 24. Binzer—son of artist and filmmaker Rollin Binzer—formed Crazy Town in 1999 with Bret Mazur; the group had a 2000 hit with “Butterfly.” Binzer also had a solo career, with the album Happy Love Sick and a hit single, “Starry Eyed Surprise,” and he fronted the group Shifty and The Big Shots. Binzer also appeared in a handful of films (Clifford, Willowbee, Hustle & Flow). The overly tattooed ex-con (he served time for burglary) had a long history of drug problems, bobbing up on various celebrity rehab shows, to little effect.
