Actor Robert Logan, 82, died on May 6 in Florida, his family has announced. Signed by Warner Bros. when still a college student, Logan appeared in several movies and TV series before being hired to replace Edd “Kookie” Byrnes as the carhop on 77 Sunset Strip. He stayed with that show from 1961-63, and through the 1990s appeared in such movies and shows as Mr. Novak, Dr. Kildare, A Night in Heaven, Kelly, and Riptide. Logan’s most successful role post-Sunset was as the pioneering dad in three Adventures of the Wilderness Family movies. He retired from show biz—or perhaps vice-versa—in the late 1990s.
