Obi Ndefo, 1972 – 2024

TV actor Obi Ndefo, 51, died on August 31. No cause has yet been determined. Ndefo was best known for playing Bodie Wells on the nighttime soap Dawson’s Creek, and Rak’Nor on Stargate SG-1. From 1995-2021, he appeared on such shows as Angel, The West Wing, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Crossing Jordan, and Star Trek: Voyager. Ndefo founded the non-profit Arts Alliance for Humanity, which supports keeping arts education in public schools and communities. In 2019, while his career was still climbing, he was hit by a car and lost both of his legs; in recent years he was working on getting his acting career going again, appearing on NCIS: Los Angeles. “I can do this, and I want to keep being a contributor to the world,” he of his recovery.
