Michael Newman, 1957 – 2024

Baywatch costar Michael Newman, 67, died of Parkinson’s disease on Oct. 20. He was best known as lifeguard “Newmie” Newman on Baywatch, and that was his first acting role—Newman actually was a lifeguard when cast in the show (he was also an Iron Man competitor, and a fireman—I mean, come on). He also appeared in numerous Baywatch TV-movies and sequels, his only non-Baywatch roles were Zig & Zag’s Dirty Deeds (a 1996 series) and Enemy Action (a 1999 movie).
