Argentinian actress María Socas, 65, died of cancer on Dec. 10. She had a long, successful career onstage, and from 1983 - 2017, she was seen in numerous movies and TV shows. Socas was the queen of the telenovelas, playing mostly glamorous villainesses, costarring in the series Grecia, El Día que Me Quieras, Maridos a Domicilio, El Precio del Poder, and Mujeres de Nadie. She is best known in the US for her movies Hollywood Boulevard II, Deathstalker II, Wizards of the Lost Kingdom, and The Warrior and the Sorceress. “I’ve made a lot of bizarre movies,” Socas once admitted.
