Gospel singers Kelly Nelon Clark, 64, her husband, Jason Clark, and Kelly’s daughter Amber Nelon Kistler were killed in a plane crash in Wyoming on July 26, en route to the Gaither Homecoming cruise. Kistler’s husband, the plane’s pilot and his wife, and the Clarks’ assistant also died. Kelly, Jason and Amber (her sister Autumn was not on board the plane) were members of The Nelons, a singing group specializing in gospel, a cappella, hymns, Americana, and folk music. They were nominated for three Grammys, and were inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016. Among their gospel hits were “I Shall Not Be Moved,” “Come Morning,” and “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.” Kelly Nelon Clark also appeared in such films and TV shows as Old Rugged Cross (as “Anita Rock”), The Cardinal Rule, Homicide Hunter, and the music video Excuse Me, Are You Jesus?.
