British TV actor John Clegg, 90, died recently, his family has announced. The dome-headed, skeletal Clegg costarred as pianist Gunner Graham in It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, and as Clifford Howes in in Crossroads, also turning up in such shows as Are You Being Served?, Dad’s Army, You Rang, M'Lord?, and Mr. Bean, as well as in such movies as Tom & Viv and Bridget Jones’s Diary. Born in India to a military family, Clegg went to RADA and started his career in the theater. He made his TV debut in 1961, and in 1982 had a successful one-man show as Rudyard Kipling. From 1959 till her death in 2006, he was married to his occasional costar, Mavis Pugh.
