Hitler Saavedra Casternoque, 1978 – 2024

I don’t usually write about politicians, but one cannot ignore the death (on Sept. 17, age 46—cause as yet unknown) of Peruvian congressman and surgeon Hitler Saavedra Casternoque. So many questions! Who would name their baby “Hitler?” Why would young Hitler not change his name, especially upon entering politics? Who wouldn’t leap off the stretcher and run for the door upon learning they would be operated on by Dr. Hitler? Why would the people of Peru elect someone to congress named Hitler? What the hell is going on in Peru?
