Voice actor George Lowe (Space Ghost), 67, died after a long bout with heart problems on March 2. Lowe started his career as a radio announcer and DJ, till making his debut as superhero/talk show host Space Ghost on Cartoon Planet. He also voiced that character on numerous spinoffs (Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Sealab 2021, The Brak Show). Lowe also voiced various characters on Celebrity Deathmatch, Assy McGee, Squidbillies, American Dad!, and Robot Chicken. Lowe told Jake Uitti of the time that Space Ghost interviewed David Byrne, who was “Creepy cool. They never used it. He and I spent I don’t know how long talking about death. His laugh was—well, you heard it on the show, ‘Huh huh huh huh huh.’ This weird kind of machine gun laugh. He asked me, ‘Well, how do you want to be remembered, Space Ghost?’ I said, ‘I want a salad bar attached to my coffin with a sneeze guard so people will be able to pay their respects and eat better than what killed me.’”
