Japanese voice actress Emi Shinohara, 61, died on Sept. 8. She was best known for voicing Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter in the camp, cult anime Sailor Moon (she was the ponytailed brunette). From 1986 through this year, Shinohara voiced more than 150 movies, TV shows, and video games (English translations of her vehicles include Project A-Ko 2: Plot of the Daitokuji Financial Group, Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Maria Watches Over Us, When Seagulls Cry, Asteroid in Love, Komi Can’t Communicate, and Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie). Shinohara is survived by her husband, actor and singer Hiroshi Watari.
