Producer Daniel Selznick, 88, died on August 1 at the Motion Picture Country Home in Woodland Hills, Calif. The son of producers David O. Selznick and Irene Mayer Selznick (and grandson of Louis B. Mayer and Louis J. Selznick), Selznick produced such films and TV-movies as Targets, Night Drive, Blood Feud, Hoover vs. The Kennedys, and documentaries about Gone with the Wind and Ronald Reagan. He was a production executive at Universal for four years, and an active film preservationist. Unlike his intimidating parents, Daniel Selznick was a quiet, friendly and chatty person; he had recently finished his autobiography, Walking with Kings, which is set to be published next year.
