Ubiquitous TV actress Betty Bridges, 83, died in Phoenix on August 27. From 1974 through her retirement 40 years later, Bridges turned up on such shows as Good Times (as the Evanses’ sexy neighbor: “that lady doesn’t wear strapless dresses, she wears dressless straps!”), Wonder Woman, What’s Happening!!, Quincy, M.E., CHiPs, Lou Grant; Diff’rent Strokes, Hill Street Blues, Dallas, Beverly Hills, 90210, Ally McBeal, NYPD Blue, Scrubs, and 2 Broke Girls. She was also seen in the films A Night at the Roxbury, Rooster, and The Concrete Jungle. In later years, she ran the acting school Kane Bridge Academy in L.A. Her three children—Todd, Jimmy, and Verda—all went into acting, as did five of her grandchildren.
